RETREAT FOR COMPASSION FOCUSED THERAPISTS
Come and join us for a 3 days retreat and contribute to working together to enhance our selfcompassion and develop our compassionate minds and personal wellbeing.
As therapists, we are committed to helping those in mental distress to find ways to alleviate suffering: This can be both rewarding and challenging as we engage with their stories of distress, pain, and loss. So, keeping ourselves emotionally fit and resilient is of benefit to us all. The retreat will present ways to working to develop our own self compassion and enhance our ability to flourish in our work and personal lives. It will also enhance therapeutic practice by learning in from selfpractice.
There will be opportunities to listen and learn, reflect, and practice. We will use the practices of compassion focused theory (Gilbert, 2009, 2014;) and the practice of developing Mindful Compassion (Gilbert & Choden, 2013), such as mindful attention, breathe work, chair work and guided imagery exercises. It will not be necessary to have CFT training as we will cover the core principles with teaching and practice. Some knowledge of CFT would be helpful but not essential to benefit from the retreat as we will visit the core teachings through the retreat as we focus on self-practice.
We look forward to seeing you there!
